I have just started having this problem: When I try to launch Enderal: Forgotten Stories, as it starts to pop up Steam keeps freezing (i.e."Steam is not responding") and then crashes, without even managing to bring up Enderal's launcher. It still is not working trying to just play directly from Steam, and I have no clue why. Also check out our support section.I can now get the Enderal Launcher to run, after following the suggestions below from u/AggroBuLLeT (tyvm) AND opening the Enderal folder, selecting the launcher, and running it as an administrator.
